What is the Wolverine stack?
Wolverine stack is an informal, online-only name for combining the peptides BPC-157 and TB-500, sold for injury recovery. Neither peptide is FDA-approved; both were reviewed by an FDA advisory committee in July 2026 for possible listing, and the only identified data on the combination comes from a single 2026 rat study.
What is in the Wolverine stack?
BPC-157 is a synthetic peptide covered in its own entry, and FDA describes TB-500 as a seven-amino-acid synthetic fragment of thymosin beta-4 spanning amino acids 17 to 23, with an added acetyl group [1]. FDA states that "thymosin beta-4 and TB-500 are not the same substance" [1]. Online sellers pair the two peptides under the informal name "Wolverine stack," a name that does not appear in any FDA document or published study reviewed here. FDA's Pharmacy Compounding Advisory Committee reviewed both peptides, along with KPV and MOTS-c, on July 23, 2026, for possible addition to the 503A bulks list [2].
Are BPC-157 and TB-500 FDA-approved?
Neither is an approved drug. FDA proposed not adding TB-500 to its 503A bulks list, citing immunogenicity risk and the availability of already-approved wound therapies [1]. The advisory committee voted 8 to 6, with one abstention, to recommend BPC-157, and separately voted 8 to 6, with one abstention, to recommend TB-500, but placement on the bulks list still requires formal rulemaking, which had not occurred as of the vote [2]. TB-500 is also listed as a thymosin-β4 derivative prohibited at all times under the 2026 WADA list [4].
What does the combination data show?
The only combination data identified is a 2026 study of 32 rats with surgically cut Achilles tendons, comparing BPC-157 alone, TB-500 alone, and the two together over four weeks [3]. The TB-500-alone group had significantly higher load to failure than controls (p<0.05), and the combination group had a significantly lower Movin tissue-quality score than controls (p = 0.040); BPC-157 alone showed numerically lower scores that were not statistically significant [3]. This is animal, not human, evidence.
