What is a manufacturer savings card?
Manufacturer savings card is a discount offered directly by a drug maker to lower the out-of-pocket cost for patients with commercial insurance or who pay without insurance. It is not available to patients whose coverage comes from Medicare, Medicaid, or another government-funded program.
How does the Wegovy savings card work?
Novo Nordisk's Wegovy savings offer lets patients with commercial insurance pay as little as $25 per month, with maximum savings of $100 per month [1]. Government beneficiaries are excluded from the offer [1].
How does the Zepbound savings card compare?
Lilly's Zepbound savings card lets commercially insured patients pay as little as $25 for a one, two, or three month prescription fill, with maximum monthly savings of $100 and maximum annual savings of $1,300 [2]. Cardholders must attest they are not enrolled in Medicare, Medicaid, or another government-funded health program [2].
Why do these cards exclude government beneficiaries?
Both cards are written for commercially insured or self-pay patients, and both exclude anyone enrolled in Medicare, Medicaid, or another government-funded program [1][2]. Patients with government coverage should check whether other programs, such as a patient assistance program, might apply instead.
